What is the difference between Art Journals and Smash Books? Art Journals and Smash Books both tell stories through image and words; journals are more of a personal expression of one's inner thoughts and feelings; while Smash Books are more about collecting various small found objects, words, images, ideas that represent either personal or non-personal representations.
